The Cake Maternity Story

Cake was born out of our founder, Tracey Montford’s own personal struggle during her pregnancy journey. In her search for comfortable, functional and stylish maternity and nursing wear, it appeared hitting all three was the trifecta that didn’t exist. Suddenly in this new role, she was being forced into this one-size-fits-all mould of how a mother should look—and it wasn’t pretty. She wanted more and realised that if she felt this way, so must many other women across the world.

This became her driving force to create beautiful, high quality, functional and comfortable pieces inspired by her own experiences designed to support mamas on their breastfeeding journey. Bras that truly enhance the lives of women every day, allowing them to fully embrace motherhood & all that it brings to the table. 

To this day, Tracey has that same passion and vision driving her, encouraging women to breastfeed for as long as possible in a supported & educated community.

Perfect for sleep as very comfortable and soft. There are no parts to dig in to you. Easy and comfortable to use while feeding. More supportive than I thought it would be too...handy for those days when you don't quite manage a shower till lunchtime. nThe pockets have quite a small opening so can be quite fiddly to insert nursing pads, but once in all good and easy to remove.

I bought two of these while I was pregnant. Honestly worth every penny! I wore them everyday at the end of my pregnancy, and even labored in it because it was so comfortable. Now that I’ve had my baby and I’m nursing, I love wearing them to bed because they are so easy to pull aside for feedings. The fabric is incredibly soft, and they provide really great support for sleep bras. I imagine I will be wearing these pretty regularly for at least the next year!

This is the only bra I've bought comfortable enough to sleep in during late pregnancy. I'm planning to sleep in it after bub is born. It has great stretch for fluctuating breast size when breastfeeding.

This bra is so comfy and offers a reasonable level of support for a non-padded/non-wired bra. I wear it all day!

I love this bra. It's really easy for breastfeeding ,as you can just pull it under the breast, and don't need to worry about anything getting in the way. Great piece!
