The Cake Maternity Story

Cake was born out of our founder, Tracey Montford’s own personal struggle during her pregnancy journey. In her search for comfortable, functional and stylish maternity and nursing wear, it appeared hitting all three was the trifecta that didn’t exist. Suddenly in this new role, she was being forced into this one-size-fits-all mould of how a mother should look—and it wasn’t pretty. She wanted more and realised that if she felt this way, so must many other women across the world.

This became her driving force to create beautiful, high quality, functional and comfortable pieces inspired by her own experiences designed to support mamas on their breastfeeding journey. Bras that truly enhance the lives of women every day, allowing them to fully embrace motherhood & all that it brings to the table. 

To this day, Tracey has that same passion and vision driving her, encouraging women to breastfeed for as long as possible in a supported & educated community.

Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Honestly, I have never had a bra fit me so well, or feel so silky smooth. Having a larger cup size and now breastfeeding has made it really difficult to find a good bra but after trying this one, Iu2019m getting some more!! Such incredible support too and no leakage, which is also hard to find. Even though itu2019s a pumping bra, itu2019s soo comfortable for every day use and breastfeeding too (as well as so perfect for pumping hands free). Canu2019t rave about it enough.

Fantastic, just needs some tweaks

Really love this bra and would buy again. Offers more support than some of the other bras I have purchased here. However the downside is I found the zippers quite delicate and worry they won't hold up over time. I also found the zipper in the middle of the bra creates lumps and bumps that aren't smoothed out well with wearing a bra cup under. the bra is fantastic for pumping! although can be hard to zip/unzip

Does the job

This bra does the job however personally I found the straps dug into my skin a bit especially once I had my pump parts and bottles full of milk. The quality of this bra is amazing though!

Function - Great, Design - Not so great

I love the functionality of this design. It is so easy to discreetly pump, handsfree at my desk at work, HOWEVER, the plastic boning on the sides of this bra digs terribly. I had sores develop after one day of wear and had to go braless for a few days to heal. To remedy this, I cut the boning out (not ideal). I will continue to wear it however will not repurchase.

Hi Britt, thanks for your review and we are so sorry to know about your experience with our Pumpkin bra. Our bras actually have incredibly strong under bands, which is where the majority of the support comes from. There are some possible reasons for this such as fit or personal preferences. You might need to add a band to make it work for you. Can you confirm please what is your current cup size bra so we can further check your sizing? Thank you
