The Cake Maternity Story

Cake was born out of our founder, Tracey Montford’s own personal struggle during her pregnancy journey. In her search for comfortable, functional and stylish maternity and nursing wear, it appeared hitting all three was the trifecta that didn’t exist. Suddenly in this new role, she was being forced into this one-size-fits-all mould of how a mother should look—and it wasn’t pretty. She wanted more and realised that if she felt this way, so must many other women across the world.

This became her driving force to create beautiful, high quality, functional and comfortable pieces inspired by her own experiences designed to support mamas on their breastfeeding journey. Bras that truly enhance the lives of women every day, allowing them to fully embrace motherhood & all that it brings to the table.

To this day, Tracey has that same passion and vision driving her, encouraging women to breastfeed for as long as possible in a supported & educated community.

I'd been putting off buying nursing bras for ages, because bra sizing can be tricky at the best of times, never mind when you're buying online and whilst pregnant/nursing. But I'm so glad I took the risk and tried Cake bras! The TimTams bra gives me great support and feels so fancy - nothing like the nursing bras I was finding in stores, which lacked a flexi-wire/any real support and made me feel super frumpy. The 16DD (my pregnancy size) fits snugly but not too tight!

I was worried about what I was going to use for a nursing bra being a busty 40J and still growing during my pregnancy but then I found Cake Maternity and was so relieved to find something in my size. Granted, I sized up and they still fit great! They super comfy and exactly what I needed going into my third trimester! The Flexi-wire does not bother me throughout the day like my normal bras do.

The Tim Tams bras made me feel truly good in my new body for the first time since the birth of my LO. Pregnancy and breastfeeding maid my chest 4 cups higher than the already generous DD. It was hard to feel supported and find a bra that gave a good shape too. I love it.

Wonderful bra just wish the straps were longer. Will be returning because my cup size has gone up since I started nursing.
