The Cake Maternity Story

Cake was born out of our founder, Tracey Montford’s own personal struggle during her pregnancy journey. In her search for comfortable, functional and stylish maternity and nursing wear, it appeared hitting all three was the trifecta that didn’t exist. Suddenly in this new role, she was being forced into this one-size-fits-all mould of how a mother should look—and it wasn’t pretty. She wanted more and realised that if she felt this way, so must many other women across the world.

This became her driving force to create beautiful, high quality, functional and comfortable pieces inspired by her own experiences designed to support mamas on their breastfeeding journey. Bras that truly enhance the lives of women every day, allowing them to fully embrace motherhood & all that it brings to the table. 

To this day, Tracey has that same passion and vision driving her, encouraging women to breastfeed for as long as possible in a supported & educated community.

Beautiful colour! good fit - typically a 2xl and fits true to size. I removed the cups as they were creased and wrinkled and looked odd. I will be ordering this in the other colour as well as the tank tops.

Nice for summer

I had my baby in late May and this was so nice in the summer heat with a pair of overalls. Also really nice to have the nurse pads built in. Even though I'm a size 85I it fits nicely. Only downside is how flimsy it is to close again.

Darn! It's in the wash!

This bra is my go-to for everything! Out of the shower and your skin is still soggy so pull-over bras will do the rolly thing? This bra's the answer. Want to keep you milk collectors or wearable pump stable without any fiddling? This bra's the answer. Just want to be comfy, that you'd rather have nothing (and nobody) touching you, but you also don't want milk/sweat dripping from your chest? This bra's the answer. Holy Grail!!

Trying to find a bra that fits me comfortably when I'm not pregnant was a mission and I stumbled across this one and to give it a try before the baby came as skin to skin is really important to me. nI should have bought 10 of these! I told all the mothers at my ante natal group about them and how comfy and soft they are and considering the size of my bust - to be able to have it stay shut with just one dome done up is unbelievable! nAbsolutely AMAZING value for the product and will be recommending for all time!!
